MRI

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a diagnostic test through which images of the inside of the body can be obtained, by means of a magnetic field and strong radio waves. The human body is made up of different elements, most of which are magnetic too. The magnetism in the atomic nuclei of matter –tissues, organs, bones- is used, attracted by a huge magnet, which is the resonator. This signal is captured and translated into images on a screen, through the use of special software. Such images are printed on a plate, and the doctor proceeds to write a report on the requested study.

CT Scan

The Computerized Tomography (CT scan) is a diagnostic imaging test which involves the use of State-of-the Art equipment to obtain cross-sectional images of the body. We have equipment with many rows of detectors, which implies a higher number of cross-sections. This results in advantages such as: high quality image, less or low exposure to radiation, speed and flexibility to process different images.

ULTRASOUND

The ultrasound and doppler service carries out diagnostic tests based on ultrasound to obtain images of internal body structures. This type of studies is used to assess different medical conditions such as heart, gynecological, pregnancy, breast, abdominal, and thyroid check-ups, among others.

ECHOCARDIOGRAM

Echocardiography is a non-invasive test that uses sound waves to create heart images. Such images, and the information they provide, are much more detailed than a simple X-ray. In an echocardiograph there is no exposure to radiation and it shows a beating heart.

This test is carried out to assess the heart’s valves and chambers from the outside part of the body.

NERVE CONDUCTION STUDIES

Electromyography (EMG) and Nerve Conduction studies are tests that measure the electrical activity of muscles and nerves. Nerves send electrical signals for the muscles to react in certain ways. When they react, they produce signals that can be measured.
